The Chambers view is as follows-
"St Austell Bay Chamber of Commerce fully supports the work done by SCOPE.
The Chamber also understands the need to have premises that are fully accessible to all. However the Chamber objects, in principle, to a proposal where an active shop-front is lost within the prime shopping area of the town centre. Such losses can have an adverse impact on the vitality and viability of a town centre and can be harmful to the visual character of what is a shopping centre. This Planning Application is also Contrary to Policy 57 of the saved Restormel BC Local Plan."
