Thinking of Joining the Chamber?

Have your say

St Austell Bay Chamber, with the election of a new Chairman and Management Team, has renewed its aim to lift the Chamber’s profile as a positive, open and engaging force within St. Austell, the town centre, the urban area and right across the whole of the Bay area.

Any new member is actively welcome to have a say on business matters that affect the town and the whole of the Bay Area. The Chamber is open to any size or scale of business, or local resident with an interest in business, for just £36 per year.

Want to be part of the Management Committee?

It’s an exciting time to join. The new Chamber Management Team is currently seeking to assemble a new management committee and is welcoming new ideas and a fresh approach. Young or old, retired or just starting out, you may well have as much, or more, to offer as anyone else.

The more diverse the Chamber committee can be, the more the Chamber will be able to reflect the broader commercial issues of the Bay, and the more strongly we can represent our business community within Cornwall as a whole and beyond.

If you would be interested in joining the Chamber, or the management committee, we want to hear from you. We have a challenging road ahead and ideally we need people who are able to ‘do stuff’ and not just ‘talk stuff’ and so a willingness and ability to contribute, whatever your level of experience, will be welcomed most.

Our Aims

The Chamber’s main purpose, through its affiliation with Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, is to assist and support local businesses to grow. The aims of St. Austell Chamber are to foster good relationships with Town Council and Ward Members and to create networking opportunities through social and business events.

We plan to ensure that the Chamber is increasingly democratic in its processes by involving online forums for debate on local issues; through communicating to the wider community through via regular news bulletins; an online voting system for members who may not always be able to attend meeting; and the creation of a ‘Junior Chamber’ to foster Young Enterprise initiatives and work experience opportunities for school and college students to name a few ideas.

We believe we have exciting times ahead.

To find out more about the Chamber or joining the committee, please get in touch as soon as possible.
