St. Austell's Torchlight Carnival 2013 was bigger, brighter and better that anyone could have anticipated. Since its inception 5 years ago the cranival has grown beyond the committee's wildest dreams. Thousands of people lined the streets agin this year to cheer and applaud another fantastic display of creativity,music and colour. The Torchlight Carnival has become a vital part of St. Austell's calendar - an event that ignites the passion of the whole community, with entries ranging from schools and charities to local trader and theatre groups.
This was all thanks to a small committee headed by Sheila Vanloo and they were delighted at the number and standard of entries this year, proving again that Cornwall has a wonderful community of people who love the shared experience and the happy carnival spirit they create.
